Here a sequencing activity that we did with the song. We cut all of the pieces out and layed them out so we could see them. (While the kids were busy cutting, I played the song on the radio. This gives them something to listen to while they’re cutting and it also gives me a way to have everyone done at the same time:) I say “I’m going to play the song 3 times and you have to have all of your pieces cut out and put safely into your pencil box. Each time the song is over, I will say-“I’m going to play it X more times”. I gives them something to do while they’re cutting AND it reminds them of the order of the song:) Then, we talked about what happened first in the song. We found that picture and glued it on number one.
We continued until we had all the pictures glued on.
Here are the literacy centers that we did this week! The first center can be found in my Baseball Unit. The rest of them that you will see and many more can be found in my Baseball Math and Literacy Centers. You can also check out yesterday’s post to see some of the math centers in action:)
ABC order- There are 2 different response options here. I use the one where they write the word and draw the picture for my approaching level students. There are also 2 different alphabet lines. One has the letters that you need highlighted in red for your approaching level students. The other alphabet line is all black.
Here is the response book that I use for the beyond level kiddos. They have to write the word, use it in a sentence and draw a picture to match.
