Before we start our bubble explorations, we learn all about bubbles. How to blow the best ones and what you need to make them. Here we are checking out some “Bubble Blowing Tips”.
Now, it’s time to start exploring with a little BUBBLE LAB!!!!!!!!!!! Look at all we found out!!!
Water makes ALL. THE. DIFFERENCE!!!!!! GET. IT. WET!
Why are bubbles soooo fun and magical???? I’m not even kidding when I say that the kids could have done this ALL. DAY!!!! They explored and explored. They learned and learned. They problem-solved, worked together and discovered. How could they make it bigger? Blow more? Blow a bubble inside a bubble?? They just kept going. It NEVER got old. Why do bubbles make kids so happy????? The smiles made by those bubbles are just priceless!!!!
A bubble, in a bubble in a bubble????? OH, YES, WE.DID!!!!
And, more exploring and discovering!!!
How bout THE BIG BUBBLE RACE??? How many bubbles can you blow in ONE minute? The mult-tasking going on here was fun to watch!! PLUS, you wouldn’t believe the amount of bubbles that can actually be blown in one minute!!! LOL!
Now, on to BUBBLE STATIONS!!!! Again, you will be amazed at how much time your kids take at these stations! They just don’t tire of them! They WANT to explore! They WANT to discover! They are just so ENGAGED and having so, so much fun!!! Keep an eye on the faces in those pictures!! You can JUST SEE it on their face when they make a discovery or blog a bubble!!!!!
First, we broke up into groups and went to a station to discover if the items would blow good bubbles or not. Here is the waterbottle station. Will Waterbottles blow good bubbles?? hmmmmmmmmmmm…..
Ummmmm….why, yes!!! Waterbottles blow some SUPER. FABULOUS. bubbles!!!!
Stings was one of my favorite stations to watch. I just had yarn out tied into a little loop. It was nearly impossible to blow a bubble with it…UNTIL, one smart little cookie figured out a fabulous technique!!!!
How bout scissors?? Look at the picture on the bottom!! Do you see the amazement on those faces? That’s the face of a boy who just blew a bubble! 😉
Exploring Cookie Cutters…
Let’s try straws…..there’s that “FACE” again!!! 🙂
Paper Clips were a little more difficult!! LOL!
At the end of our stations, the kids gave me LOTS of recommendations of things that I should try to blow bubbles with! I tried sooo many things!!! We then recorded some of the things that worked. You can even see “that look” on my face. LOL!!! What is it about bubbles???? It’s just such a HAPPY feeling when you create a good one 😉
After the Bubble Stations, I had them bring their “bubble Bottles” over and we filled them up with some of our bubble solution to take home! 🙂
Moving on to a little VOCAB and Art Extension…..
I’ve been doing these bubble prints with my kiddos for years!!! JUST. soooo much fun!!!! (and just a dad messy:)
Just get a small, shallow container and fill the bottom with tempera paint.
Then, put a layer of dawn on top of that. Then add a little water. Stir it up and stick a straw in it.
Last, but not least, now that we are ALL bubble experts, we can have BUBBLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooo much fun!!!!!!
Go check out this BUBBLE UNIT for yourself! 🙂
